Random F****ing Update - NaNoWriMo

So last journal I said this:
"At one point me and Tom Cruise/one night stand friend went out onto Windmill's porch and we realized that her porch railing is perfect for performing Mimi's "Out Tonight" (a song from RENT). So guess what I did! I hopped up on that railing and belted it out to the street :D And apparently, I actually hit the notes! Meaning I sang Mimi's parts which are typically higher than I think I can hit, and I actually hit them! My friend told me so :D And by god, I'm going to believe her. Now I just gotta work on Maureen's parts to match my frickin' costume XD"

Now apparently that provided enough confidence for me to be able to go to singing lessons with confidence behind my singing. I went to my lesson and sang notes I've never hit before, sand them well, and got all the ones I've been doing for a while almost perfect! I apparently sang up to the top of those line thingies. (I'm still learning XD) So I started a new song- All That Jazz, from Chicago. It's pretty difficult, and I can only get about half of the notes at this point. But hopefully when I develop more of a belt, I'll be able to get the notes that require a bit more "oomph".

So NaNoWriMo started the other day. I'll be busy with that and won't be doing much drawing/photoshop fiddling. So don't expect a lot from me for the next month. Just thought I'd give you all the heads up for when I disappear.

EDIT:
In case you're wondering, I'mma put my word count here :D It'll be updated as often as possible.
Word count: 5,108
Also, if you want to see more official NaNo stuff, my account is here
The site takes a little while to load occasionally, but I think I read somewhere that they added server space, so it shouldn't be so bad.

How could a night so frozen be so scalding hot?

Yup, Halloween was fantabulous for me :D It usually is, but this year was especially awesome. My costume was fun, even though no one guessed it on the first try. I was Maureen from RENT, but everyone guessed Catwoman, because I went with the 'Happy New Year' sequence costume, which is Catwoman. But I still sang and danced (did the Time Warp :D) and had loads of fun.

I started at a friend's house where we worked together to finish carving her pumpkin. ([link] captioned "Bitch, I will cut you" by my friend). We costumed up and my other friend came over to walk to ~LittleWindmills house and she helped me with makeup (HO SHIT, I WORE MAKEUP). So at the time we left (after being joined by a third friend) I looked like this: [link] and this (with my friend who did my makeup who does not go on deviantart and will probably never see that to kill me) [link] She was Tom Cruise from Risky Business but she only wore that so she could secretly be a one night stand. Her mom would kill her if her mom knew that she really was a one night stand. So she hid it XD

Anyway, we start walking and they start trick or treating. I feel like I'm too old to trick or treat, so I hung back when it came to that. But we stopped at my house to give my parents the full effect of my costume and for my friends to show off theirs, then we went to ~LittleWindmills house and partied all night long :D We played Rock Band, there was karaoke goin' on, people were screaming about Foosball and we played Never Have I Ever. I love learning the creepy stuff about my friends. Although, that's a double edged sword, and I hate letting them know what creepy stuff I've done. But it got hot at one point (okay, it was partially my fault that I was so hot- I was wearing all leather and the weather was not kind to leather-wearers) and I took off the leather jacket. So then I looked sexy, like this: [link] and [link]

At one point me and Tom Cruise/one night stand friend went out onto Windmill's porch and we realized that her porch railing is perfect for performing Mimi's "Out Tonight" (a song from RENT). So guess what I did! I hopped up on that railing and belted it out to the street :D And apparently, I actually hit the notes! Meaning I sang Mimi's parts which are typically higher than I think I can hit, and I actually hit them! My friend told me so :D And by god, I'm going to believe her. Now I just gotta work on Maureen's parts to match my frickin' costume XD

OH, and the day before Halloween I dressed up for school, too! I was complimented on my jacket :) My feet were killing me by the end of the day though, since I wore high heels and I almost never did before. Halloween itself wasn't that bad though, 'cos I was more used to the heels by then. I got a few stares at the bus stop, because I was the only person who dressed up who went on my bus XD But school was pretty Halloween-ified. Someone was dressed as Waldo and there were four girls dressed as the Telitubbies :D I showed my Child Dev teacher my costume too, and she's already shorter than me, but with my heels I felt like a giant XD She was dressed in footie pajamas too, and had her hair in pigtails, so she seemed even shorter. So yeah, school was fun last Friday.

I slept over Windmill's house that night as well, and we watched The Road to El Dorado and Tarzan! I drew a gorilla, so I'm working on lineart for that now, so I'll probably have that done pretty soon. I was planning on doing something for a bunch of people, a sort of happy Halloween thing, but I kinda got the idea waaaaaayyyy too late, so I think I'll do a Thanksgiving/holiday thing instead.

(By the way the title is a reference to a song from RENT, called Halloween- apparently written for Anthony Rapp's voice by Johnathan Larson after the initial test run, pre-Broadway/opening). And that's my fun fact for the day :D)

Frustrating Moment - The Random F***ing Update

To Do List and Art Status - Crystal Lake Stables - Watcher Feature

So today during lunch I had a bit of a rough time. My mom sent me an email that had a list of things a 90-year-old woman learned as she got older. One of the things was "Forgive everyone for everything." I just have a quick question- why is it so important for me to forgive people when people are such shit? Now most people I can forgive- my sister when she's a bitch, my friends when we get into fights, my parents when they yell at me, etc. etc. But there's one person who I'm going to beat the shit out of if I ever find out who they are and meet them. I can never forgive this idiot for what they did, and I have no clue who the hell they are. Some of you may remember that my uncle/godfather died this January. The reason was because a person was driving while texting and they were driving poorly/badly/stupidly. My uncle was a cop and was responding to the call that this person was driving badly. His car slipped on ice, skidded off the road and slammed into a telephone pole, killing him almost instantly.

...How the hell am I supposed to forgive that person? They're the cause of my uncle's death, because they were talking on their fucking cell phone. If they were being intelligent and being a responsible driver, then he'd still be alive, because he wouldn't have gone to answer that call and wouldn't have driven so fast over the ice to reach that stupid person.

I'm just a little confused and pissed off and upset, and I wanted to cash in my monthly vent check.

In lighter news, I did pretty well in improv the other day. We played ad agency, where we created an object, added tons of random shit to it, then decided who to market it to, and all had to play ad agents and pretend to smoke cigars. We all turned into mob bosses voice-wise by the end of it. We somehow got on the subject of sexism and how we should have it in our piece and I yelled out, "Well if we need sexism, let's get some oven mitts!" That got a laugh, and then my "Miss Galaxy 1974" character got a few laughs too. Some lines include: "I grew up on planet Zeeborg, where my family lived. We were poor, growing flugnarbs to sustain ourselves, until the babdoogs burned the farm down for not paying our taxes" "I'd like to think I was popular in high school, but I'd be lying. I was more of a popular target for bullies." And then I was interviewing my friend, who was playing "Mr. Cool" and I played the part of a giggly girl who was really nervous and... well, giggly. So basically just I openly flirted with this guy for a scene. T'was fun :D

This one freshman in the class I TA for treated me like the teacher today. He asked me if he could go get a drink. I was like, "Yeah, sure, whatever" and gave him a snap-to-thumbs-up.

And singing lessons went well. I'm slightly more confident now, so I'm not holding back as much (as much being a key phrase- I'm still holding back a little) and I'm actually hitting some notes.

AND IT'S ALMOST HALLOWEEN! Since Friday is the day before, I'm going to school in my costume, then wearing it Saturday night for my ~LittleWindmills' party. I seriously can't wait. I want to sleep through the next day so I can just get to costume wearing. I'm so much more confident when I'm not myself, and since I'm Maureen, who has buckets of confidence, I'll be a totally different person :D

Alright, bai XD

Improv Club - My dad rocks

Fri Oct 16, 2009, 6:40 PM
To Do List and Art Status - Crystal Lake Stables - Watcher Feature

So Improv Club kind of ROCKED the other day. OH MY GOD IT ROCKED. Seriously, the freshman this year totally make up for last year's freshmen. The terrible kids from last year are still coming and they go up every time they can. I mean, yeah, if they want to get better, that's great, but do they really have to ruin EVERY scene? That's an old record though. Anyway, the other day I got a couple chuckles, and I've told everyone I know in person, so now it's your turn to pat my head and call me a good girl. The first time I went up the club leader was looking for new people to go up and I was kind of hiding behind a chair trying to not get called, so of course he called on me. So I go up and the scene is what Shakespeare did before he wrote his plays (which was seen in the previous scene and done absolutely BRILLIANTLY). According to the kid playing Shakespeare, he was a track and field star. So when the scene starts I go up to him and I'm like, "HAI WILLYYYYY. How are you?" speaking in a weird voice and being all "omg he's cute, I'm gonna flirt with him" and all. Then the kid starts showing off shot put and javelin throwing, and every time he goes to "pick up" the javelin/shot put ball thingy, I leaned over and looked at his ass very blatantly (to the audience, I don't think he noticed XD). And yeah, that was actually a fun scene. I only shook a little bit too! Then we played I Like My Men, and the topic was video games. Mine was, "I like my men like I like my video games- I like to beat them." And everyone was like, "UHM, WHAT?"

The Thursday before this past one I went up for a game of Party Quirks and I had to play Judas. As in the one who betrayed Jesus. And that's all I know about him. So I played him like an annoyed neighbor or something. "Damn him, he's thinks he's so great. Oh look at me! I'm a prophet!" It's things like that that ensure my place in Hell. But the kid (one of the annoying ones) didn't even get it XD He didn't guess the thing, and then even after when I was like, "I'm Judas!" he just stared at me. And I was like, "From the Bible!" And he finally was like, "Ohhhhhhkkkkkkaaaayyyyy..."

But yeah, I'm liking improv club right now. I just want to know who played Willy Shakespeare, seeing as I basically sexually harassed him behind his back. The thing is that he's a twin though, and both of them showed up. One of them is in the class I TA for, and I'm trying to figure out if he's Willy or not. It's kinda weird talking to a person when you know you've publicly harassed them for a laugh...

Oh yeah, and my dad called me a fag XD We were in the car and I was asking about why people like scary movies. He said because some people like being scared. "Like when you go on a roller coaster- well, not you, because... well, you're kind of a fag like that." I kind of laughed my ass of at that. I know it's not right, and it's not nice, it was just so out of the blue and said in a way that just tickled me. Plus once my dad gets me laughing, there's no stopping it, and he was on a roll tonight XD

LA VIE BOHEME BABY!

(Btw, I FINALLY COMPLETED MY HALLOWEEN COSTUME! BOO YA! Well, I just need chips, so it'll make sense when I walk in like, "CHIPS ANYONE? :iconimhappyplz:" Well, it'll make sense to theater kids. Whatevs.)

Apple picking - MLIA

Mon Oct 12, 2009, 6:10 PM

Ten free sketches that still need requesting.

I WENT APPLE PICKING TODAY. I had so much fun. I went with a friend and her family (the ones I went to Delaware with) and we got so many of those stupid fruits. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE apples, but I have so many now. So we went and I scurried up a few trees like a freakin' monkey. I love climbing apple trees, hanging precariously from a limb and reaching out to try and grab the biggest apple in the tree. I do it almost every year with my family, but this year I don't think we're going. I have half a bushel in my kitchen now though, so I'm eating apples for the next couple of weeks.

This made my life:

Today I read a MLIA story about Mystery Google. I went to check it out and typed in the first word I thought of. When I clicked go, the search box said "email me at [the person's email] if you came from MLIA! =)" I emailed them, and I hope we can become good friends. MLIA.
